Dry Yeast & Nutrients
Dry or dehydrated yeast offers a number of advantages over conventional liquid yeast packs that may be of an interest for the homebrewer. First of all, due to the fact that the yeast has been dehydrated, storing and transporting it is much easier as compared to the very sensitive liquid yeast packs and vials. And in most cases, dry yeast doesn’t need a starter for successful pitching. Just add the dry yeast to a glass of lukewarm water for rehydration and you’re all set.
Some brewers still have a certain bias towards dry yeast as being not as diverse and reliable as in its liquid form. However, today there are dozens of specialized dry yeast strains from different yeast labs on the market that will let you ferment just any beer style out there. From simple Golden Ale or Pilsner Lager to Saison, IPA, Belgian Quad or Imperial Stout, every style of beer can be fermented with a pack of dry yeast. And at Canuck Homebrew Supply you will always find a great assortment of dry yeast and yeast nutrients from various producers to make a great beer with.
