Vienna Malt - Swaen - 1lb
This malt produces a wonderfully golden beer with a full-bodied flavour. It also adds a hint of toffee aroma to the brew. If you are brewing a pilsner beer, use 10 - 30% in the mash. For an amber beer 60 - 90% can be used. Vienna malt is a great base malt because it has a high potential for enzymatic starch conversion.
|Description:||Vienna malt is the traditional malt used for brewing Vienna lagers, but it’s capable of much more than just that.
Vienna is a full-fledged base malt with enough enzymatic activity to be used with specialized malts and adjuncts.
It has a deeper golden colour and fuller body if compared to Pilsner or Pale ale malt, and contributes a light toffee character to the beer.
Traditionally used for brewing Vienna lager, this malt can be used in a variety of styles for balancing the overly light base malts such as Pilsner and for achieving fuller body in such styles as Bock, Amber lager, Golden Ale, October beer and many others, with up to 100% of the grain bill.
