Munich Malt I - Weyermann - 1lb

  • $1.89

A lighter Munich malt has a strong malt flavour, with a beautiful, light aroma of honey, caramel, and bread. Your brew will gain an amber colour, a fuller body, and a smooth mouthfeel. Great for dark beers.

Description: Weyermann Munich Malt I is an excellent choice for brewing malt-forward beer styles. While being lighter than type II version, Munich Malt I is produced from the same German 2-row barley and is characterized by a golden colour and a malty, bready flavour profile.

Historically it was used for brewing Munich-style lagers, but its range of applications is much broader. When used on its own, Munich Malt I delivers a pleasant bread-like flavour with hints of caramel, yet when used in conjunction with specialty malts it can create a wild range of flavours.

It is a great base malt for brewing malt-forward beers including Brown Ales, Dark Lagers, Munich Lagers, Stouts, Porters, and many others.
