ABC Crafted Series Oak Chips - French Chai Medium Plus Toasted (3.5 oz)

ABC Crafted Series French Chai Medium Plus Toasted Oak Chips contains 3.5 oz (100g) of ideally sized chips, perfect for small-batch winemaking. It has high concentrations of spice and balsam aromatic compounds, as well as eugenol (spice aromas) and maltol (roasted and caramel aromas). Ideal for use in winemaking thanks to their fine grain, high porosity, and permeability.

The oak's slow component transfer makes them well suited for medium to short treatments. Enhances aromatic complexity by infusing vanilla and spice aromas while preserving the wine's natural fruitiness due to the slow gradual transfer. Characterized by the dark chocolate, caramel, coffee, roasted, and subtly spicy aromas typical of fine hardwood. It's ellagitannin contents enhances the complexity in the nose and produces a structured mouthfeel.

We recommend using a muslin bag to contain the oak chips while soaking for easy removal and ease of transferring.

Usage Directions:
