One of the standout features of this probe is the small sponge tucked within the cap. Pre-saturated with pH storage solution (KCl - 3 mol/L), it's designed to prevent the common issue of pH meter failure due to improper storage. If the probe dries out, the KCl solution can evaporate through the glass membrane, leading to inaccurate readings.
To counter this, we've included an O-ring in the cap that forms a watertight seal, keeping the probe moist and ensuring accurate readings. To maintain this level of precision, simply rinse your electrode with water, store it in the KCl solution within the cap, and secure the cap tightly. By doing so, you'll prolong the electrode's lifespan and ensure consistently accurate readings.
Please Note: Upon receiving your Electrode Probe, it's recommended to soak it in a buffer solution before use.
