Peated Malt is an integral part of any authentic Scotch whiskey recipe, but now you can also use it for brewing beer. 

Peated malt has become a popular ingredient among experimental craft brewers who appreciate the complex smoked character of this malt, with its distinct notes of seaweed, which can expand the flavour profile in many experimental beers. 

Peated Malt is a base malt that can be used for up to 100% of the grain bill, however in beer it can deliver an overpowering phenolic burnt character, so it’s recommended to keep the rates below 20%.
