While being often compared to Oat Flakes, which are usually far easier to source, Oat Malt delivers a very distinct flavour and texture to the beer that is somewhat different to that obtained by using the flaked version.

Oat Malt imparts a very pleasant, warm flavour to the beer, while making the body thicker and the texture more mouth-coating. It is an excellent adjunct for Stouts, Porters, and some other British beer styles, with only up to 10% of the grain bill needed to achieve the peculiar texture and mouthfeel.
