Caramel Malt (Crystal) 120L - Briess - 1lb
The darkest from the range of crystal malts produced by Briess, Caramel 120 is an excellent dark caramel malt that works great in a wide variety of beer styles. It is roasted to a high degree, which lends a deep red colour and a pronounced dark caramel and toffee-like flavour.
|Description:||Caramel 120 delivers a high amount of crystallized sugars, which contribute to body density and improved foam stability.
When added in sparing amounts, Caramel 120 can be used for colour adjustment in lighter beers such as Pilsner, Heffeweizen, Amber Ale or Pale Ale.
At higher rates of up to 15% the toffee, slightly roasted, caramel flavour becomes more evident, whereas the colour takes on deeper red hues, which is a welcome trait in darker beer styles such as Brown Ale, Doppelbock, Stout, Porter, and many others.
