Usage: Aroma

Aroma: Mild and pleasant, slightly spicy with floral and elderberry tones.

Description: Considered by many as the staple of the craft brewing industry in the US, Willamette is one of the first modern era hop varieties that has made its way into hop forward beers.

Bred as a substitute to the famous Fuggle, Willamette exhibits a pronounced herbal spiciness that lends a complex and layered character to the beer.

Due to its low alpha acid content, Willamette is primarily considered as an aroma variety, and performs really well in late kettle additions and dry hopping.

This hop is commonly used in hop-forward Pale Ales and IPAs, but can certainly be incorporated into other beers styles such as Saison, Pilsner or Stout.
