Belgian Dark Strong Ales owe their rich, complex flavours to a large extent to candi sugar. And with D90 Dark Belgian Candi Syrup you will be able to obtain the trademark notes of toffee, caramel, and dark chocolate in your next Belgian brewing session.
Candi sugar is an inverted sugar composed of short molecular chains, which makes it highly fermentable by most strains of brewers yeast. As a result, it contributes a dry finish and increases the alcohol content of any beer it is used in.
The manufacturer recommends that you use this Candi Syrup within 30 days of being opened. Unopened it does have a shelf life of about 6 months at room temperature.
|Usage:||D90 Dark Belgian Candi Syrup is quite simple to work with: just open the package and add the contents to either the boiling wort or into the fermenter after primary fermentation has been carried out.
It will contribute a nice brown colour, rich caramel flavour and increased ABV that is particularly useful when brewing Belgian Dark Strong Ales, Trappist Dubbels, Flemish Reds, and other traditional Belgian dark beers.
Recommended rate of use is around 10-15% of the total grain bill, which may vary depending on how pronounced the dryness and dark caramel flavour should be in the beer.
