Usage: Dual Purpose

This high alpha hop has a fruity aroma and works well in Pale Ales and Stouts.
Description: Straight from the heart of the famous Yakima Valley, drawing its parentage from two experimental Hopsteiner varieties, Calypso is a fairly new dual-purpose hop that will surely find its way into many brewing recipes.

Boasting a fairly high alpha acid content, Calypso can be used for early bittering hop additions, imparting pronounced and pleasant bitterness to the beer. However, it’s the unique interplay of apple, pear, stone fruit and lime aromas that make this hop so special and suitable for a variety of hop-forward beer styles.

Calypso can be used with great success both as a stand-alone hop in single-hop recipes and as part of a more complex hop bill.
